Do you want to develop vocabulary-centric learners? Enlightened educators may wish to make use of resources such as:
- AllWords,
- Free Rice–Note: We posted about this once back in October of 2007 but I neglected to mention it here until Zack made a comment and reminded me. Thanks, Zack!
- Merriam-Webster’s Online Word of the Day,
- New York Times Word of the Day,
- Princeton University’s WordNet (as well as the online version of WordNet),
- Samuel Stoddard’s Fun With Words.
- the oddly addictive connected thesaurus known as Lexical FreeNet,
- the Visual Thesaurus,
- Visuwords,
- Vocabula Review,
- Wikipedia’s definition of word,
- Word Spy for recently coined words,
- Wordsmith.org’s AWAD, and
- World Wide Words.
