Well, school’s out for many of the systems that I serve. Students are sleeping in and enjoying the freedom that summer brings. The teachers that I usually visit and assist are packing up their belongs, cleaning rooms, participating in post-planning meetings, and registering for professional development opportunities. When and if my clients get a moment to access the internet, I’m going to suggest that they investigate the following resources.

Over at TechCrunch, the watchful Michael Arrington is extolling the virtues of CNET’s incredibly easy to use photo uploading service called AllYouCanUpload. Mr. Arrington is right on target, too. Making an image available online has never been so easy. Of course, the nifty resource is right in line with my “must be free” requirement. For teachers and students who want to get their images online this service is extremely tempting.

Although Newseum is not new it’s definitely worth exploring. The “world’s first interactive museum of news” is a must-see repository of information from all parts of the globe. With access to nearly 500 frontpage images of newspapers from 47 countries, the Newseum is an excellent way for educators to follow current events and see issues from multiple perspectives. In a similar vein, TIME’s photo essays site is an excellent means of using the visual impact of information.
